Artmetria · Eye · For students

Look closely, keep what you study.

Eye is free. Read a work closely, prepare a museum visit, keep the works and artists you study — every catalogue fact with the museum it comes from.

I

A work for your essay

Open it in Eye and choose « Read this work »: what can be seen, the context it suggests, and what remains uncertain. A starting point for your own reading — not a source to cite.

II

A visit to prepare

In the museum, photograph a work or its label to find out what it is, and keep it with your visit, room by room.

III

One work, read slowly

The Close Readings take a single work and read it in writing: what to look at first, what the painter chose, what the eye usually misses.

Your questions

Is there a student discount?

Eye is free — there is nothing to discount. Eye+ only lifts the monthly limits.

Can I cite a reading in my work?

Cite the museum's catalogue record, which every work in Eye names. A reading is a careful first look, not a scholarly source.

How many readings can I make?

Each month: 10 readings and 30 questions a month; identifying a work from a photograph is unlimited.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes — Eye works in your phone's browser, and has its own app, Artmetria Eye.

What happens to my data?

What you keep is yours; your profile can be withdrawn and erased; Eye data is never used for advertising.
