Artmetria · Market · For antique dealers and dealers

Know the record before you bid, and before your client asks.

Market reads the auction record for you: every lot with its comparables and the evidence behind them, the artist's market sale by sale, and a note you can hand a client.

I

A lot you spotted in a regional sale

Open it in Market: the lot as catalogued, its earlier appearances at auction, and the past sales that compare — each with the reason it compares, or not. You see whether the estimate sits with the artist's recent results before you decide how far to go.

II

After the sale

The result is placed in the artist's market, year by year and by technique, and against the house's own estimates — so you know whether it was a moment or a trend.

III

A client asks what it is worth

Build a dossier on the work and print the note: the comparable sales, where they come from, when they were read. Market gives no valuation — it gives you the record to argue yours.

Your questions

Does Market tell me what a work is worth?

No. Where enough comparable sales are recorded it shows a range drawn from them; otherwise it says « insufficient evidence ». The valuation stays yours.

Which sales are covered?

Fine art, paintings and drawings at its heart, from the published results of international houses and many regional ones in Europe and the United States. Each result names its house, its sale and its date.

Can I follow an artist or a house?

Yes. Market sends a Signal — in Market and by email — when a followed artist comes up for sale or a followed lot is sold.

Can I keep my stock in it?

Your Portfolio keeps the works you hold, what you paid, and where the recorded market stands for each.

Is there a trial?

A free account sees none of Market. The screens on this page are the product as it is.
