How we use your details when we contact you
Last revised 12 October 2026
Version prospect-notice-v1, effective 12 October 2026. This notice is for the art-trade professionals Artmetria Ltd writes to. It does not concern the people who use Artmetria, whose data is covered by the Privacy Policy.
Who we are
Artmetria Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17513488), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at privacy@artmetria.com.
Why you are hearing from us
Artmetria observes public auction results across the art market and builds tools for the professionals who work in it. We keep a register of galleries, dealers, advisers and experts, and from time to time we write to some of them, by hand, to introduce what we do. We contacted you because your work address is published in a professional context — usually your organisation's website — and our work seemed relevant to yours.
What we hold about you
Your name, your professional email address, the organisation you work for, where we found your address (we keep the page address) and when we last checked it, and a short note of our exchanges. We do not keep the content of emails, and we do not track whether you open them or click on links.
Our legal basis
Our legitimate interest in introducing our services to professionals in the art trade (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(f)). We have assessed this interest against your rights; you can ask us for a summary of that assessment.
Who sees it
Only Artmetria. Our database is hosted by Supabase in Ireland. Our emails are sent from our own mailbox, hosted by o2switch in France, or through Resend, an email delivery provider based in the United States.
For Resend, the transfer to the United States relies on the UK's adequacy regulations where the recipient is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and otherwise on the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as our Privacy Policy describes. We do not sell, rent or share your details.
How long we keep it
Three years after our last exchange, after which it is deleted. If you ask us not to contact you again, we keep only a one-way fingerprint of your address (not the address itself), so that we never write to you again — even after deleting everything else.
Your rights
You can object to being contacted at any time, and we will stop: simply reply “stop” to any of our emails or write to privacy@artmetria.com. You can also ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it erased.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). If you are in the European Union, you can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.
