Terms of Use
Last revised 12 October 2026
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Artmetria website and platform, wherever you are. Subscriptions are also governed by the Terms of Sale.
Scope
These Terms apply to access to the Artmetria website, public pages, user accounts, subscriptions, and related platform features.
Who you are contracting with
Artmetria is operated by Artmetria Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17513488, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, which is the party to these Terms. The Imprint repeats these details.
Market subscriptions are sold through Link, Stripe's merchant of record, under the Terms of Sale; online payment is not open yet.
Nature of the service
Artmetria offers two products. Eye, for discovering, reading and keeping works of art, is free, with monthly limits on readings and questions; Eye+, sold in the Artmetria Eye app, lifts those limits. Market, a subscription for art-trade professionals, reads the published record of auction sales. Both are educational and analytical tools.
Artmetria does not present itself as a marketplace, broker, investment manager, or financial advisory service, and it does not value, attribute or authenticate works.
Photographs you send, and the readings you receive
When you send a photograph or a question to Eye, you confirm that you may share it. It is used to produce the reading or the answer you asked for, and is passed for that purpose to the AI provider named in the Privacy Policy. A photograph that produced a reading is kept privately with that reading, for you alone; it is never published or reused.
A reading is a careful first reading produced with AI assistance. It is not an expertise, an attribution, an authentication or a valuation, and it may be wrong; it should not be relied on for a financial, legal or acquisition decision.
Accounts
You must be at least 16 to create an account — 18 in the United States, where several states regulate apps used by minors — and at least 18 to buy a subscription. Market is for professional use; Eye is for everyone of age to use it.
Certain features may require account creation. Users are expected to provide accurate information and to maintain the confidentiality of their login credentials. You can close your account at any time from the app.
Users remain responsible for activity occurring under their account, subject to applicable law.
Acceptable use
Users agree not to misuse the platform, including by:
- attempting unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
- interfering with platform security or integrity;
- copying, scraping, or extracting data in prohibited ways;
- using the platform for unlawful, misleading, or abusive purposes.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the structure of the website, branding, editorial content, texts, graphics, layouts, and platform design elements are protected by applicable intellectual property law.
No license is granted except for the limited right to use the platform in accordance with these Terms. A subscription is for one person and may not be shared.
The names of auction houses, museums, indices and publications cited on Artmetria belong to their owners and are used only to identify a source. Their citation implies no affiliation with Artmetria and no endorsement by them.
If you hold rights in material shown on Artmetria, see Rights and removal requests.
Educational and analytical use only
Artmetria aims to support visual education, structured reading, and analysis. Its content and tools should not be understood as promises of gains, guarantees of performance, or instructions to buy, sell, or transact.
Availability and evolution of the service
Artmetria may modify, improve, or discontinue parts of the free service as the products evolve. What a paid subscription includes changes only as the Terms of Sale allow, with notice.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded or limited by law, nor your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, the free service is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted availability; and Artmetria is not liable for a decision you take on the strength of a reading, a figure or a comparable, which inform a decision and never make it. Where Market is used in the course of a business, Artmetria's total liability to that business is limited to the amounts it paid in the twelve months before the claim, and excludes loss of profit, of business or of opportunity.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
Nothing in this section removes the protection of mandatory consumer-law rules of the country in which a consumer is habitually resident, and nothing in it removes a consumer’s right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country where the law gives them that right.
Where Artmetria is available
Artmetria is offered worldwide, except in Belarus, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, and the occupied regions of Ukraine (Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Luhansk), because of sanctions law and the terms of the providers it relies on. You may not use it from those places, or if you are, or are owned or controlled by, a person on a United Kingdom, European Union, United Nations or United States sanctions list. Access may be refused or ended where sanctions law requires it.
If you are a consumer, the law where you live protects you too: nothing in these Terms removes a right it gives you and does not allow to be removed.
